Jack Wilkins in The Pembrokeshire Murders
Jack Wilkins, played by Welsh actor Steffan Cennydd, is introduced in episode 1 of The Pembrokeshire Murders.
He arrives unannounced at his dad’s house after a falling out with his mum but is allowed to stay.
Over the course of the next two episodes, we see that his relationship with his father is strained, owing to Steve Wilkins’ dedication to his work.
A keen football player, Jack reveals to his father that he has upcoming trials for the county team but is angry with Steve when he fails to attend.
Speaking about the pair’s relationship, Luke Evans – who plays Steve Wilkins – told Digital Spy that: “There’s a very powerful storyline between him and his son. How difficult it is having a teenage son and not being there and work taking over.
“All those things that you forget [about] these detectives and these police officers when they’re on the front line or when they’re putting themselves in danger.”
- SERVING TIME: Where is John Cooper today?
Did Steve Wilkins’ son become a police officer?
- The fate of Jack Wilkins and his whereabout today are unknown.
In the final few scenes of The Pembrokeshire Murders, Jack Wilkins arrives at Steve’s police station and speaks of his desire to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a police officer.
However, it’s not clear what Steve Wilkins’ son went on to do in real life as little information is available.
It’s stated at the beginning of each episode of The Pembrokeshire Murders that some character names were changed, so it could even be possible that Steve Wilkins’ son isn’t actually called Jack in order to protect his privacy.
We do see that Jack is a budding football player in the series and he even makes the county team.
And while there was a football player called Jack Wilkins, he was born in 1920 and died in 2009.
The Pembrokeshire Murders concluded on January 13th while the series is available to stream in-full on ITV Hub.
