A social media video featuring a man crying after being denied access to board his flight has been making the rounds on Twitter today. Some users seemed to think the man in it was on a ‘no-fly list’, while others argued the whole incident was about wearing a mask. So, what happened? Let’s try to get to the bottom of this.
Recently, footage of a man crying and yelling in an airport has gone viral on social media.
In the video, a man can be heard yelling after reportedly being kicked off his flight. Clearly distressed, he says: “This is what they do to us, they kicked me off a flight, they call me a f***ing terrorist and they want to rule my life.”
Additionally, another person can be seen approaching him, who said: “Sir, please calm down. I was kicked off Delta earlier.”
The video has received an upwards of 15 million views, as well as thousands of retweets since it was initially shared to Twitter.

Man Crying video: ‘No-fly list’ rumours explained
The video was initially shared on TikTok by a user called @heartlessbeech, credited as @heartlessputa.
It received over 50,000 likes and was captioned: “Homeboy had a full toddler level meltdown bc [because] he was told to wear a mask #fyp.”
However, since the video has been retweeted and shared on Twitter, some users think the man’s outburst wasn’t because he was told to wear a mask.
At this point, a number of reasons have been offered. Still, David Slotnick – senior airline reporter at Business Insider – reinforced that “the caption on the original post says it’s mask related” after sharing a screenshot of the @heartlessbeech TikTok post on Twitter.
What caused the meltdown?
As outlined, the original post suggests that the man was reacting to being told to wear a mask.
One Mile at a Time highlights that there are some uncertainties regarding what caused it in the first place. For example, the man’s reaction and claims he was called a “terrorist” don’t seem to line up with the mask theory – but then again, maybe it’s just an over-reaction coming from someone who is tired, jet-lagged or simply can’t take no for an answer.
Perhaps the person who took the video witnessed the disagreement over a mask first-hand.
What we know is that, as of now, there has been no official confirmation that the man seen in the video is on a no-fly list.
