Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Leeds’ clash with Brighton, Marcelo Bielsa has spoken about Ben White.
White is obviously a player Bielsa knows very well as he played a key role in the Whites’ promotion campaign, and as you can imagine, he was a hot topic as Leeds prepared to face the Seagulls.
Understandably, Bielsa was asked about his thoughts on White ahead of his clash, to which he responded:

“All of us here admire him as a player. We respect him and love him as a human being. He was an excellent professional as well as a team-mate. I hope his career allows him to grow because he deserves it.”
The Argentine was then asked about White’s performances this season, to which he gave a short simple answer.
“Ben White has shown he is a Premier League player,” Bielsa said.

This is genuinely great to hear.
Some managers would be bitter about certain players after failing to sign them in the summer despite making some big money offers, but Bielsa seemingly holds no hard feelings towards White.
The defender was a great servant to Leeds during his loan spell at the club, and the manager respects him for that.
The English centre-half has struggled at times this season as Brighton sit just above the relegation zone at the moment, but Bielsa has clearly seen enough to convince him that White is capable of playing at this level.
