West Ham United are said to be concerned about making an attempt to sign Olivier Giroud from Chelsea by EuroSport.
West Ham had considered Giroud as an option, but any deal apparently looks difficult to complete.
The Hammers are worried that Chelsea may leave the transfer to drag throughout the month, before deciding that they want to keep the £18 million Frenchman anyway (Telegraph).

That would obviously be bad news for West Ham, who need a striker sooner rather than later.
With Sebastien Haller sold, West Ham are short of options up-front and Boulaye Dia of Reims is now said to be the top target.

David Moyes’s side are apparently ready to make their move to land Dia in a deal worth £15 million.
Dia is completely unproven in English football, but he has a strong goalscoring in France this season with 12 strikers to his name, and Moyes will be hoping that he can continue that impressive form at the London Stadium, if he is snapped up.
