
Back in October, Liverpool were rocked by the news that Virgil van Dijk was ruled out for the rest of the season.
The big Dutchman picked up a knee injury in the 2-2 draw away to Everton following a rash challenge by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
And as a result, Van Dijk, a huge part in Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League success over the past 18 months, was ruled out until the 2021-22 campaign.
But this may have been premature.

According to The Sunday World, there is ‘some hope’ at Liverpool that the 29-year-old powerhouse could play again before the season is out.
The report adds that the Premier League champions and their towering centre-back are already negotiating a new contract.
What an enormous boost it could be if Van Dijk can play again this season but, really, it won’t be for four or five months, you’d imagine.
If he’s back before the season is over, it’ll be at the business end of the campaign and that’s when you want a player like Van Dijk coming back, at the crunch, when there’s a possibility for silverware.
