Arsenal fans are generally pleased with David Ornstein’s claim that Mesut Ozil’s exit has edged closer.
The Athletic reported yesterday that Ozil is now willing to leave ‘some money on the table’ in a bid to terminate his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Ozil has previously proven very difficult for Arsenal to offload, due to his mammoth wages.
But the latest move from the playmaker means that the Gunners could finally be able to get rid of Ozil this month.
And Arsenal fans feel pleased that his time is coming to an end.
If Ozil does move out then Arsenal may just have some room to work the market themselves.
Mikel Arteta is keen to bring in a new creative influence and with Ozil’s wages off the books, Arsenal should have much more freedom to bring in new additions.
Ozil has not played at all for Arsenal this season, with Arteta making it clear that he has no future at the club.
