Arsenal are back in Premier League action this evening, as they host Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners dumped Newcastle United out of the FA Cup last weekend, and must now build on that with a league win tonight.
With three league wins in a row, Arsenal come into the game having seemingly turned a corner under Mikel Arteta, but will be wary of a potential slip-up against Palace.
Arteta may make some changes for tonight’s game, with tough decisions to make on key returning duo Gabriel Magalhaes and Thomas Partey, so here’s our predicted lineup…
Barring a late injury or pandemic-related issue, Bernd Leno will certainly start in goal – especially with questions over Runar Runarsson’s future.
Pablo Mari and Rob Holding have been enjoying a promising partnership of late, but we’re backing Gabriel Magalhaes to return in place of Mari as the left-sided centre back having returned from injury.
Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney should be the full backs, with Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos in front of the back four.
Thomas Partey could be involved from the bench, but it’s surely too soon for him to be starting the game, with the decision to rush him back against Tottenham surely weighing on Arteta’s mind.
Emile Smith Rowe has become very important as a number 10 and should start again here, with Bukayo Saka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out wide.
That would leave Alexandre Lacazette to lead the line, with Gabriel Martinelli not quite fit enough to start yet.
Runarsson, Pablo Mari, Ainsley Maitland Niles, Mohamed Elneny, Partey, Joe Willock, Willian, Nicolas Pepe and Eddie Nketiah would be likely picks for the bench, though Martinelli and David Luiz may push for places.
Predicted Arsenal XI tonight: Leno; Bellerin, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Ceballos, Xhaka; Saka, Smith Rowe, Aubameyang; Lacazette.
