Arsenal were in a much different place when they were linked with a move for Boulaye Dia in December.
According to Le10 Sport in France a month ago, the Gunners are keen on bringing the Reims hitman to North London.
When that report came out, Arsenal were 15th in the Premier League table and had only scored 10 in their 12 league games up until that point.
Things are a little brighter at the Emirates Stadium now, with Mikel Arteta’s side sitting 11th after winning three on the spin and scoring eight goals along the way.
But for what Dia would cost, Arsenal must still seriously consider him.
According to Sky Sports News, the Ligue 1 outfit would be willing to part ways for as little as £10 million.
To put that into context, Dia is rivalling Kylian Mbappe for the Golden Boot in Ligue 1 this season, with both scoring 12 goals.
Alexandre Lacazette is bang in form right now and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will never be far away from a purple patch, but the latter is 31 and the Frenchman turns 30 in May.
It’s time Arteta and Edu think about the long term and although they have brilliant youngsters in the form of Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun – who could leave this month – there’s no harm in bringing in Dia, especially for £10 million.
